Power of Presence Workshop Hosted by ExxonMobil Qatar’s Professional Women Network EMRA’A

EMRA’A – ExxonMobil Qatar’s women’s network – hosted a professional development workshop in Doha last week for more than 150 female employees from Qatar Petroleum, Qatargas, and ExxonMobil Qatar.

The Power of Presence workshop was led by Holly Davis, a Senior Consultant, Behavioral Expert and Leader Coach with Right Management.

DOHA, Qatar – EMRA’A – ExxonMobil Qatar’s women’s network – hosted a professional development workshop in Doha last week for more than 150 female employees from Qatar Petroleum, Qatargas, and ExxonMobil Qatar.

The Power of Presence workshop was led by Holly Davis, a Senior Consultant, Behavioral Expert and Leader Coach with Right Management.

The workshop helped participants explore tools and skills that will allow them to discover and develop their own unique presence. By using a range of techniques, Davis showed the group how to find their voice and purpose, enhance their presence as a leader in the workplace, and lead by inspiring and empowering others.

Amal Al-Malki, Safety Security Health and Environment Specialist, for ExxonMobil Qatar, welcomed participants with a brief introduction on EMRA’A’, its mission and the workshop’s purpose, saying, “At EMRA’A we support women's growth and advancement in the workplace. Through our activities, we encourage our colleagues in Qatar’s energy industry to believe in themselves and realize that they have a greater potential within.”

“Workshops like this provide an opportunity to network with like-minded colleagues and to grow professionally and personally through open and interactive discussions. We’re delighted there is so much interest in our activities – once again, we had a wonderful and well-attended event,” she added.

For two decades, Davis has been involved in helping organizations and leaders improve their effectiveness through a holistic approach that links behavior change to business results. She has led large scale leadership development projects for global organizations spanning a diverse range of industries including conventional and alternative energy, financial services, technology, manufacturing, utilities, medical, and pharmaceutical. Davis has helped leaders achieve breakthrough results in effectively engaging their workforce and stimulating innovative solutions.

Mariah Forte-Connor, Vice President for Commercial - Joint Ventures and Flowing Gas at ExxonMobil Qatar, and Chairperson of EMRA’A said, “We plan EMRA’A’s professional development workshops to be highly informative and engaging, and we hope all the attendees found it extremely beneficial. EMRA’A was founded in November 2009 and represents the women of ExxonMobil that are ‘Reaching, Aspiring, and Advancing.’ The network strives to connect with the Qatari community and hosts events with development opportunities, team-building activities, mentoring and networking.

Since it was established, EMRA’A has provided a platform from which opportunities for professional women can surface, and where trending topics related to women in the workplace can be discussed. The network is one example of how ExxonMobil is contributing to the Qatar National Vision 2030 by providing the energy that drives human potential, in support of a skilled, productive and diverse workforce that can sustain Qatar’s future.
