Environmental research in Qatar
ExxonMobil Research Qatar (EMRQ), at the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) is conducting research in areas of common interest to the State of Qatar and ExxonMobil, including environmental management, water reuse, LNG safety and coastal carbonates. This research will be increasingly important as Qatar continues to develop the world's largest integrated gas processing and liquefaction facilities.
The research emanating from QSTP and ExxonMobil is part of the solution to develop economically and environmentally viable energy sources and is aligned with the Environmental Development Pillar of the Qatar National Vision.
EMRQ’s environmental research focuses on the marine environment and seeks to scientifically understand the impacts that industrial activities might have on the quality of water near the Qatari coast and the nearby marine ecosystems.
