ExxonMobil Qatar introduces new racing motorbike simulator at Qatar ExxonMobil Open Public Village and co-hosts kids tennis clinic with QTF

DOHA, Qatar – In partnership with the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF), ExxonMobil Qatar has been the title sponsor of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open for 24 years. As title sponsor, the company’s annual stand at the Public Village is designed to be creative and appealing, and includes a unique entertainment piece each year that draws visitors of all ages.

ExxonMobil Qatar has debuted a racing motorbike simulator at its stand in the Qatar ExxonMobil Open’s Public Village this year. The simulator offers a new and exciting motorbike racing experience for users. It comes in a set of two motorbikes so people visiting the stand can compete against other visitors.

The simulator isn’t just for tournament-goers - several of this year’s line-up of tennis players have already visited the ExxonMobil Qatar stand including Jamie Murray, Bruno Soares, Richard Gasquet. If they’re lucky, visitors of the Public Village may get a chance to see their favorite stars.

Also as part of the tournament activities, ExxonMobil Qatar and QTF co-hosted an annual kids tennis clinic yesterday for children from the ExxonMobil Qatar community.

Mirza Basic spent over an hour yesterday working with the young participants. During the entertaining and informal session, he helped the children strengthen their hand eye coordination and build their confidence in making contact with the tennis ball.

This is the fifth year that kids tennis clinics are offered to children as part of the broader tournament. The clinics provide upcoming tennis players with the opportunity to learn new skills from world-renowned tennis stars, and develop an interest in physical activities, as part of leading a healthy lifestyle. They also promote a love for tennis and encourage children to pursue the sport beyond a recreational activity.

“We are honored our children got to spend time with Mirza Basic at today’s kids clinic – I am grateful to ExxonMobil Qatar and the Qatar Tennis Federation for arranging this wonderful activity for them,” said Chris Warren, a parent form the ExxonMobil Qatar community.

“I’m sure professional tennis players, including Mirza Basic started out like our kids did, with somebody who got them interested in playing, and engaged them in playing the sport. He taught the kids technique and gave them great tennis tips, but I think the most important thing they learned from him today was that tennis is a social sport, and they should have fun when they’re on the court.”

In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, ExxonMobil is committed to supporting the State of Qatar’s sustainable development goals. By partnering with local organizations, the company invests in education and professional workforce development programs that promote a highly skilled, motivated and productive workforce that can build a bright future for Qatar.
