ExxonMobil Qatar Tamayoz Program transfers knowledge and empowers business leaders

More than 200 participants benefit from advanced technical training from September to December 2015

DOHA, Qatar – ExxonMobil Qatar hosted 14 training programs from September to December 2015 for employees from valued partner Qatar Petroleum; joint ventures RasGas and Qatargas; Tasweeq and Nakilat. In alignment with the Human Development Pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030, the Tamayoz training program shares ExxonMobil’s technical, commercial and operational expertise with local partners through a structured program designed to increase participation of Qatari nationals in the workforce and enhance their capabilities.

“The Tamayoz training program was developed to cater to the training needs of our industry partners and their people, empowering them to become successful Qatari business leaders. Each course is relevant to areas of special interest identified through extensive discussions,” said Alistair Routledge, President and General Manager for ExxonMobil Qatar. “We’re committed to driving human potential from classroom to boardroom across the State of Qatar, in support of a competitive workforce that can sustain Qatar’s future. We believe that such a workforce is the key to a knowledge-based economy, as outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030.”

Tamayoz delivers professional and personal development opportunities through six targeted critical competency areas: leadership and personal effectiveness; project management; commercial; operations excellence; technical (surface and subsurface) and safety, health and the environment. Courses held between September and December 2015 included offerings from each of the six key areas.

One of the 14 courses held during this time period, and new to Tamayoz, was Facility Design and Surveillance. The course gives participants the tools to design an oil and gas production facility, and to analyze surveillance data for effective facility optimization.

Another course held this fall was Gas Business Fundamentals, one of the flagship Tamayoz commercial courses that prepares professionals for natural gas commercialization activities. Participants are equipped with a strong understanding of the global gas value chain, improved business knowledge skills and discernment of key commercial drivers.

“I am very pleased to have taken part in the Gas Business Fundamentals as it’s so relevant to my work as a commercial analyst. The course gave me a deeper understanding of the various facets of the natural gas industry, from exploration through to the marketing of products,” said Fatma Fadul Al-Naimi, Commercial Analyst I at Qatargas. “The course will go a long way in helping me achieve business impact, and I will definitely encourage my colleagues to attend as well.”

Around 140 courses have been offered free of charge to ExxonMobil partners and joint ventures with nearly 2,000 individuals receiving training since the inception of the program in 2012. In 2015 alone, over 40 courses have been offered to more than 600 industry professionals. All Tamayoz training programs are an extension of ExxonMobil Qatar’s ongoing commitment to the development of Qatar’s national workforce.

In October 2015, ExxonMobil Qatar inaugurated new facilities for its Tamayoz training program at EMRQ, which is housed at the Qatar Science and Technology Park. The new Tamayoz facility is another important step in the company’s efforts to support Qatar’s national workforce development plans and drive human potential across the country. ExxonMobil Qatar is committed to providing the energy needed to fuel human potential; to support research, safety, health and the environment; and to nurture Qatar’s thriving society.
